This is a hybrid position that can be worked from home, in the field, and at our office in Santa Monica, CA.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a creative and numerate, high-performing social media expert who is deeply in tune with internet culture and has the results to prove it. In this highly visible leadership role, you will directly manage comprehensive social media strategy and publishing, lead the social media team and external agencies, increase brand engagement amongst our social audience of 15M+, and deliver robust reporting to our senior leadership team.
You possess excellent leadership and communication skills, thriving both independently and in team settings. You have a strong understanding of analytics and the ability to leverage data-driven insights to prove business cases. You possess the sophistication to pitch creative activations to our executive team and board while also being able to post directly and write community/feed comments when needed. You have experience working with celebrities and handling high-pressure situations and media attention with grace.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
OPERATIONS & TEAM MANAGEMENT
- Lead & Manage Teams: Oversee our internal social media team and external agencies, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across all channels.
- Engaging Content Creation: Plan and oversee content for Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, and more. Foster a diverse, inclusive global music community with creative, on-brand editorial content.
- Content Calendar: Collaborate with marketing colleagues to create and manage a dynamic social media content calendar, directing rich media content creation for posts.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Work with internal Advocacy, MusiCares, Black Music Collective, Songwriters & Composers Wing, Producers & Engineers Wing, GRAMMY U, and GRAMMY Global Ventures teams to develop social media strategies that support their initiatives.
- Campaign Activation: Launch and manage campaigns for key events like the GRAMMY Awards and MusiCares Person of the Year.
- Integrated Marketing: Work with Marketing to ensure seamless integration between social, email, SMS, in-app push, and other digital channels.
- SEO Integration: Implement cutting-edge SEO strategies within social media operations.
- Creative Development: Oversee the creation of all social media assets, from videos to graphics, ensuring they align with our brand’s voice.
- Trend Monitoring: Stay updated on the latest social media trends and best practices.
- Brand Sponsorships: Collaborate with the sales team to implement and activate brand sponsorships on social media.
- Agency Collaboration: Manage relationships and workflows with external agencies.
- Event Participation: Drive professional member participation in the GRAMMY Awards, from voting to attendance.
- Influencer Marketing: Support and contribute to our influencer marketing efforts.
- Paid Social Management: Execute and report on all paid social efforts, ensuring the best return on ad spend for the company and its partners.
COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT
- Develop and oversee platform-specific Community Management plans for TikTok,
- Instagram Stories, Reels, X, and more.
- Set measurable goals to enhance engagement, foster brand loyalty, increase awareness, and generate positive word-of-mouth, using analytics to track progress and identify improvement areas throughout the year.
STRATEGY & ANALYTICS
- Collaborate on Campaigns: Partner with the EVP of Marketing and Senior Director of Brand and Community to develop engaging audience-focused campaigns and initiatives.
- Set Clear Goals: Work with the EVP of Marketing and Senior Director to establish clear campaign goals and measurable KPIs that align with OKRs.
- Data-Driven Strategies: Use owned, industry-vertical, and competitive analytics to measure performance, identify opportunities, and refine tactical approaches for maximizing year-round efforts and ROI.
Analytics Tagging: Oversee all analytics tagging processes to ensure thorough, complete, and accurate tagging, enabling precise reporting. - Team Leadership: Set monthly performance goals for team members, maintain accountability, and mentor the social media team as a “player/coach.”
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Mass Media, Business Administration, or similar.
- 6-8 years professional social media experience in music, entertainment and/or media. Awards show experience a plus. Must be able to show recent success driving business results for a brand in social media.
- Strong knowledge and interest in music, popular culture, technology, and entertainment.
- Advanced proficiency in social media publishing, analytics and listening platforms (i.e., Sprout, Hootsuite, Meltwater, Talkwalker, Brandwatch, Sprinklr, Hubspot, etc.). Certification is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and operate effectively in an extremely high-pressured, multistakeholder environment.
- Proven ability to communicate to a senior executive audience and be a trusted team member and leader within the department.
- Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Google Analytics 4. Beginner proficiency in Meta Business Suite.
- Graphic-capable with knowledge of CS/Photoshop editing, experience making GIFs, and fluent in each platform’s native editing tools.
- Ability to “walk the talk.” Preferred candidates have active personal accounts across key social media sites.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing competing priorities and successfully dealing with last-minute changes.
- Superlative written and verbal communication skills including strong editing, grammar, and proofreading skills.
- Must be a collaborative team player with the ability to integrate with a diverse team full of opinions and ideas.
- A diligent work ethic and strong desire for innovation.
- Must be able to work long hours and weekends as needed, especially during GRAMMY season.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
The starting salary for this position is $101,800 to $114,050 per year, benchmarked against industry standards. Salaries for positions required to be in specific geographic locations reflect the corresponding labor market.
