Music Catalog Junior Analyst / Deal Coordinator
Location: US (Remote-Friendly but preference for Los Angeles, NYC, Nashville candidates)
Type: Full-time
About Seasons Music Group
Seasons Music Group, a music talent and deal advisory company based in New York and Los Angeles, is becoming a leader in the music deals space—facilitating dozens of transactions and hundreds of millions of dollars in catalog sales and partnerships across a wide spectrum of genres, styles, and players in the entertainment industry. We work closely with artists, writers, producers, funds, and various partners to create thoughtful, strategic opportunities in the music rights landscape and the entertainment industry writ large.
About the Role
We’re hiring a Music Catalog Analyst / Junior Deal Coordinator to support a high volume of music catalog deal activity. This role involves everything from preparing catalogs for market, reviewing contracts, parsing through extensive quantities of statements and royalty info to generate and organize data rooms, creating concise but effective pitch decks, then working directly with buyers, sellers, and third-party partners to facilitate successful transactions alongside the company owner.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with experience in royalties or rights management—whether at a business management firm, label, publisher, private equity firm, or music fund—who is looking to join a fast-growing company at a pivotal moment in the field. The role is primarily operational and detail-oriented, but for the right candidate there’s also potential to participate in market research, generate a portion of commissions on new sale leads, and even assist in creating and running data-driven tools to fuel early-stage talent discovery for our management division.
Responsibilities
Manage a high volume of ongoing catalog sales and deal flow
- Collect, organize, and prepare catalog assets and metadata into data rooms for buyer review
- Analyze third-party royalty data and review underlying contract terms to prepare valuation estimates for music royalty asset sales proposals
- Liaise with buyers, sellers, lawyers, and partners throughout the transaction process
- Maintain and update the project management database to track the status of active deals
Support the closing of sales transactions by:
- Requesting and compiling agreements, reports, and other due diligence materials for investors.
- Coordinating with transaction parties to ensure a smooth and efficient closing process.
- Liaising with third-party royalty payers to execute royalty assignment agreements.
Qualifications
- A foundational understanding of music copyright and royalty revenue streams with experience in music royalties or rights management (label, publisher, business management, or fund)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Fluency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with financial modeling a plus
- Detail-oriented and comfortable managing sensitive documents and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
- Strong analytical skills for identifying trends and anomalies in catalog performance data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Bonus: graphic design, deal presentation, or CRM tool experience
- 1 to 5 years in a music royalty-related role.
Compensation & Location
Compensation includes salaried base pay and potentially additional performance-based bonuses.
This role can be remote or hybrid depending on the candidate’s location, though US candidates are highly preferred, particularly from one of the major US music markets (Los Angeles, New York, or Nashville)
