Location: Ideally Liverpool (re-location package to Liverpool available) or London
Department Objectives
The Copyright Team sits within Sentric’s Rights division. Its objectives are:
- To ensure accurate and timely registration of client’s copyrights around the world.
- To maximise revenue streams from all potential sources.
- To identify areas of potential income growth for client’s catalogues.
- To partner with internal teams to ensure client expectations are exceeded, ensuring significant retention and renewal levels are maintained.
- To ensure clients are at the centre of all activity, ensuring Sentric’s ethos of fairness, transparency and customer focus is evident at all times.
Job Summary
The Manager: Copyright (Onboarding and Registrations) will oversee the global copyright operations across Sentric’s extensive collection network. Working with the copyright teams, they will ensure the accurate and timely registrations are made worldwide and act as the authority on copyright matters within the company.
Taking a data lead approach, the successful candidate will use these insights, along with their knowledge and experience, to further the copyright team’s continual pursuit of operational excellence. They will interact with internal teams, other publishers and CMOs around the world in to keep information flowing while working to identify and solve any potential problems.
Job Description
Team Management:
- Liaise with team leaders to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Copyright teams, using data and experience to identify key areas of focus.
- Act as the key authority on Copyright matters, offering advice on complex issues so that they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Continually assess the operations of the Copyright teams and work with management to implement improvements.
- Work with international Copyright Managers to develop processes in new markets.
- Set and ensure KPIs are being met both internally and across collection network.
- Work with Head of Rights to ensure the continual development of Copyright team skills.
Catalogue Maintenance:
- Identify and ensure action is taken to ensure comprehensive coverage exists across collection network worldwide.
- Provide key advice for complex catalogues to ensure the successful onboarding within Sentric’s systems and at CMOs worldwide.
- Work with Head of Rights to identify potential improvements to internal systems to improve efficiency of copyright operations.
Stakeholder Interaction:
- Provide insight across business to ensure copyright matters are addressed and understanding on Copyright team operations is clear.
- Present regular updates to management on team performance against agreed KPIs and progress on key projects.
- Interact with key clients and act as an authority on copyright matters to present information on the progress of their catalogue.
- Work with Director of Rights to develop and maintain relationships at key CMO partners worldwide.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Keen attention to detail, accuracy and detail-driven
- Demonstrable, prioritisation, organisation and deadline management skills required.
- High level of numeracy
- Data analysis skills essential
- Advance Excel skills important
- Practical knowledge of SQL preferred
Knowledge:
- In depth understanding of the music publishing industry is essential
- Ability to interpret CWR file content important

Experience:
- 8 years+ experience leading a publishing copyright operation.
- Team management and working to KPIs.

- Extensive network of contacts across publishers.
