TSM is a forward-looking independent music publisher with offices in Montreal and Los Angeles. We are seeking an experienced rights and systems management specialist to lead our Copyright Administration department.
The Director of Copyright’s role is to ensure the smooth transfer of information between departments and maintain and improve internal systems, and to ensure the timely and accurate registration of works, assure ongoing data quality, and act as a resource for other departments.
Successful candidate should possess five or more years prior experience in music publishing and have experience leading small teams.
This role is a full-time, permanent position.
Position can be fully remote, seeking qualified candidates in the US or Canada.
Duties include
- Manage workflow of Copyright team
- R&D for the department in terms of new systems and technologies
- Manage inter-department communication
- Build and maintain relationships with international network of partners
- Communication with performing rights societies and new music services
- Consult on copyright questions
- Maintain and troubleshoot current databases
- Oversee and execute new catalogue ingestion and setup
- Data quality assurance through audits (registrations, counterclaims, song data)
- Regular catalogue maintenance
- Oversee advertisement declarations and cue sheet tracking
Job requirements
- Database management experience
- Vistex Music Maestro experience strongly preferred
- High level of IT literacy
- Proven ability to lead a team
- Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize
- Working proficiency in French and Spanish, an asset
