Then you might be our new MANAGER ROYALTIES & COPYRIGHT UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING, BENELUX (based in Hilversum)
Overview
You will be responsible for the entire administrative handling of the royalties & copyrights of our songwriters, the corresponding processes and communication towards the songwriters, the colleagues within the Benelux Team (A&R, Sync, Legal) and all international colleagues with whom you will work a lot.
You will report to the FD in the Netherlands, but functionally you will be led by a highly experienced international team of professionals. This team will give you full support to meet the challenge at hand: getting the team up to “world class” level, including the corresponding requirements our relations demand now and in the future.
What are the core responsibilities?
- Effectively managing and motivating all employees of the Benelux administration team; ensuring that the department functions as a cohesive and effective unit;
- Establish and maintain successful communication between operational departments locally and globally;
- Develop and implement common organizational objectives, including kpi’s, our internal control environment;
- Ensure optimal use of resources and services from REA (Regional European Administration), Global
- Administration, as well as Global Data Services;
- Representing our organisation externally in the music industry (including but not limited to BUMA STEMRA and SABAM);
- Providing accurate administration with regard to:
- Royalty Administration: Reconciliation and checking payments and Statements; delivery statements towards Global organization and third parties, executing payments and quality control;
- Royalty Service: (Client Audit Management; Client Query Management; Online Portal Account Management);
- Royalty Review: Income tracking and optimize the benefits of our tracking technologies at local level;
- Copyright Administration: Implement, maintain and monitor copyright data in the PREF system (agreements and works) and databases; provide (ad hoc) reports;
- Control Environment
Develop and annually deliver the entire control package for internal audits;
What do we need?
- Demonstrated relevant work experience carrying out the responsibilities described above in the area of
- Royalty administration & Copyright administration at a Music Publishing Company
- Management (coaching and supervising employees)
- Managing, improving work processes, including audits;
- Effective communication: Strong ability to deliver concise, informed administrative reports and narratives to senior management, third parties (authors and their representatives) and staff with different levels of expertise.
- Provided with existing relationships with BUMA STEMRA and/or SABAM and familiarity with their processes, distribution activities and policies;
- Given the environment you will be working in, in-depth knowledge of the English language as well as the Dutch language is essential. Working in Belgium is also not foreign to you;

- We initially offer a one-year contract for this position but the position requires filling for an indefinite period of time;
- The salary for this position is highly dependent on the candidate’s background. With the right experience as requested (and therefore a professionally mature candidate), the indication for the gross monthly salary is somewhere between €5,000 and €6,000 per month (for full-time employment).
