Independent label group LAB Records has inked a worldwide distribution deal with Warner‘s ADA
From this month, all LAB releases will be distributed and marketed by ADA, which acts as WMG’s independent distribution and services arm.
Founded in 2007 in Manchester by Mark Orr, LAB Records is currently celebrating its tenth anniversary – and now boasts a catalogue of more than 120 releases.
It has provided a crucial platform for acts who have gone on to sign major deals such as Young Kato (BMG), Fort Hope (Virgin EMI), Dan Owen (Atlantic) and more.
The firm’s current active roster commands more than 3 million cumulative monthly listeners on Spotify.
“LAB are one of the best new independent labels in the UK.”
Howard Corner, ADA
LAB’s first releases under the new agreement with ADA have already been taken to market, with records from Martin Luke Brown, Áine Cahill, Vistas, SHOR and VUKOVI to follow in the coming weeks.
Mark Orr said: “We’re delighted to partner with ADA. We’ve had a great relationship with Warner labels and executives over many years now, so this feels like a very natural fit. It’s a really exciting time for our company.”
Howard Corner, GM & VP of ADA UK, said: “LAB are one of the best new independent labels in the UK. Mark and his team share our passion for working with new artists and we’re thrilled to partner with them.”
LAB was nominated in the Best Small Label category at this year’s AIM Awards in London.
