Concord Music Publishing has signed a global deal with DJ and producer Walshy Fire, best known as one-third of Diplo’s Major Lazer.
The new deal, effective August 1 2019, covers all his existing work including collaborations with Koffee (Toast, Throne), Sean Paul, Chronixx, Rudimental, Anne Marie & Mr Eazi, Wizkid, Diplo, Popeye Caution, WurlD, Kranium, Konshens, Mr. Vegas alongside his work in Major Lazer.
This summer saw Walshy release his first solo album, ABENG (licensed to Mad Decent Records/Because Music), which pairs artists from Africa and the Caribbean on tracks spanning afrobeats, dancehall, reggae, soca and EDM.
Walshy was a long-time member of Miami-based DJ collective Black Chiney before joining Major Lazer in 2012.
