London-based independent label Marathon Artistshas parted ways with one of its co-founders.
The company was set up in 2012 by Paul-Rene Albertini, Jimmy Mikaoui and Philippe Ascoli – and Ascoli is now waving goodbye after four years.
“As any company in motion we are going through permanent changes and adaptations, and in that respect our Friend and partner Philippe, who has been instrumental to Marathon Artists’ launch and current success, has been commuting weekly from Paris for the last 4 years,” said Marathon Artists in a statement.
“For family reasons that we certainly understand only too well, Philippe needs to base himself out of Paris and leave his current responsibilities of chief creative officer.
“From there Philippe will start new projects independently from Marathon Artists, for which we wish him all the best and are looking forward to working with him on some of those projects in the near future.”
Marathon Artists is currently in its fifth year, and says it is busy opening “horizons and opportunities for extensive growth in the coming years”.
The company is a partner of Kobalt Label Services worldwide, and also runs its own publishing and management divisions.
The firm’s label roster includes Courtney Barnett (pictured), Jagwar Ma, Childhood and Real Lies.
