Universal Music Publishing has promoted Martin Ingestrom to the position of President, UMP Sweden / SVP, Nordic Countries.
Ingestrom, who steps up from his role as Managing Director, UMP Sweden / VP, Nordic Countries, will report directly to Paul Connolly, President of Europe and UK, UMP. The promotion is effective immediately.
Ingestrom started his career at Chrysalis Music Publishing and Chrysalis Records in 1980 before leaving to launch MCA Music Publishing Scandinavia in 1993.
In 1999 he became Managing Director of Universal Music Publishing Scandinavia and following the merger of MCA and Polygram in 2006 he was appointed MD, UMP Sweden / VP, Nordic Countries, UMP.
Artists and songwriters signed or directly overseen by Ingestrom include ABBA, Swedish House Mafia, Robyn, Rolf Lofland, Jorgen Elofsson, Bloodshy & Avant among others. Writers signed to UMP Sweden recently have written hits for Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Usher, Christina Aguilera, Icona Pop, Avicii and many more. Martin is Chairman of the Swedish MPA Award and on the jury for the Polar Music Prize.
