Who’s the brightest young executive working in the global music industry today?
That’s what MBW is setting out to discover with an exciting new online award, launched today and supported by Google Play Music.
The Music Business Worldwide Young Executive 2015 is open to all music biz professionals from any discipline under the age of 32.
Here’s how it works:
- To nominate yourself or a colleague from today, email YoungExec@musicbizworld.com using the subject line ‘Young Executive 2015’;
- Please include the name, age and company of the candidate you’d like to put forward (or yourself), as well as a description of how you/they have made a significant impact on the business this year;
- Nominations are now open, cost nothing, and close on Friday, November 13.
Everyone, from all markets and all disciplines – management, A&R, marketing, digital, retail, PR, promotions, distribution, playlist ‘curation’ etc. – will be considered, so please don’t be shy.
After November 13, MBW, in conjunction with its Advisory Board and other select top executives from around the global business, will decide on a 15-person shortlist.
Our judges will be looking for candidates with a tangible track record of improving their company’s operation for the better – whether within an independent or major organisation, or in an entrepreneurial capacity.
Once this 15-person shortlist has been announced, MBW will hand it to over 150 senior-level figures from across the global music industry, and ask them to confidentially vote for our winner and runner-ups.
A Top 5 will be announced in ascending order via a series of mini-profiles on Music Business Worldwide in December – leading up to our Music Business Worldwide Young Executive 2015 winner.
MBW Editor Tim Ingham said: “More than anyone else in today’s music business, young executives are sculpting the structures and successes of tomorrow.
“It is a pleasure to turn the spotlight on the brightest up-and-coming talent in the industry – who, no doubt, will form its future leaders.”
Google Play Music Marketing Manager Henry Jones said: “We’re proud to support this great step by MBW to recognise an oft-overlooked group whose efforts continue to drive the music business forward with ever-increasing creativity and ingenuity.”Music Business Worldwide
