UK-based EVR Holdings-owned VR music platform MelodyVR has partnered with London’s Wireless Festival to broadcast the event live in virtual reality.
Users will be able to stream the event on their smartphones via the new MelodyVR mobile app.
The closed Beta of the firm’s new Android and iOS apps was announced yesterday, with plans for a public release later this summer.
MelodyVR also announced a low cost headset, the The MelodyVR viewer.
The partnership with Wireless follows the Liam Payne livestreamed show that MelodyVR staged and broadcast in December 2018.
Artists performing at Wireless in July include Cardi B, Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Stefflon Don and Migos.
“It is not about replacing the magic of experiencing live music or the festival vibe in person, but to offer an exciting alternative – and the team at Wireless and Festival Republic have the vision to work with us to deliver just that.”

Anthony Matchett, CEO and Founder MelodyVR said “Imagine a situation where even if you didn’t get a ticket for the show itself there was another way in? That’s what this partnership means and it’s transformative.
