Paul Shaver has been appointed Head of Nielsen Music Canada, where he will oversee all commercial operations surrounding the measurement and insights of music for Nielsen in the Canadian market.
Shaver joins the company with more than 20 years experience in the music industry, as well as a reputation for strong leadership, marketing prowess, and digital expertise in Canada and abroad.
Before joining Nielsen, Shaver held leadership roles at HMV Canada, Virgin Music Canada and EMI, where he served as VP Marketing & Promotion.
Following Universal’s Acquisition of EMI in 2012, he was also VP Marketing at Universal Music.
Most recently, Shaver was GM/SVP of Open Road Recordings & RGK Entertainment.
Over the years, Shaver has played an integral role in developing the careers of artists in Canada, including Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz and Lady Antebellum.
