The A&R Awards has another new partner for the 2023 iteration of the increasingly popular event, with PRS For Music sponsoring the always hard-fought Pop category.
Presented by Music Business Worldwide, the A&R Awards is the UK music industry’s most enjoyable night out of the year.
Now just 11 days away, the event will take place at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, on the evening of Tuesday November 7th. Across 17 categories, the most successful UK execs, managers, producers and songwriters of the last 12 months will be celebrated by their peers. There will also be a handful of very special awards recognizing some A&R giants and game-changing careers.
Tony Barton, Head of Writer Relations, PRS for Music said: “Pop songs have the ability to bring joy into people’s lives and define moments in time. The A&R of the Year: Pop Award recognises those who work relentlessly behind the scenes to support the artistic development of our talented songwriter and composer members. We look forward to celebrating with you on the night!”
PRS, led by CEO Andrea Czapary Martin, was in the news earlier this week courtesy of a record-breaking quarterly royalty distribution of $288.7 million (£239m).
The finalists in the PRS For Music-sponsored category are: Amber Davis – Warner Chappell UK, Ed Howard – Atlantic Records UK, Glyn Aikins & Riki Bleau – RCA/Since ‘93, Joe Kentish – Warner Records UK, Kenny McGoff – Kobalt Music Publishing UK, Lisa Cullington – BMG, Mike McCormack – Universal Music Publishing UK, Nick Huggett & Nick Shymansky – Day One Music, Richard O’Donovan – Polydor, Saul Fitton – Sony Music Publishing UK, Shaurav D’Silva – Stellar Songs / Tim & Danny Music.
