Los Angeles-based PULSE Music Group has formed a “music publishing creative joint venture” with pop music songwriter, producer, and recording artist Jon Bellion.
Under the terms of the partnership, Bellion’s publishing company, Beautiful Mind, will enter into a strategic alliance with PULSE Music to develop and support emerging music talent, the company announced Thursday (April 25).
Joining Bellion in this venture are his long-time creative manager and Beautiful Mind CEO Matt Maschi, as well as his day-to-day manager Louis Coppola.
Bellion’s career as a singer/songwriter has seen him contribute to the success of numerous chart-topping artists, including Rihanna, Jung Kook, Halsey, Miley Cyrus, Burna Boy, Camila Cabello, Lil Wayne, Jonas Brothers, Zayn, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and more.
Last year, Bellion sold his catalog to Seeker Music, a music rights and publishing company led by hit songwriter Evan Bogart.
Commenting on the deal between PULSE and Beautiful Mind, Scott Cutler, co-CEO, PULSE Music Group, said, “We’re very focused on this opportunity to continue to build out Jon and Matt’s footprint as publishers, and that is something that we do exceptionally well in the form of joint ventures.”

The first artist signed under this new venture is Elijah Noll, a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles. Noll’s worldwide publishing deal is for future works.
Noll, who has collaborated extensively with Bellion, boasts a list of co-writing credits on recent releases with artists like the Jonas Brothers, Jon Batiste ft. Jon Bellion & Fireboy DML, Nessa Barrett, 5SOS, Bella Poarch, Jackson Wang, &Team, UPSAHL, Royal & The Serpent, Jagwar Twin, and Illenium.
His most recent collaborators include Travis Barker, Andrew Goldstein, Blackbear, Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Sueco, Feli Ferraro, Evan Blair, Daywave, Bludnymph, Jake Torrey, Lil Aaron, JHart, and more.
“I’m excited to continue working with Jon and the Beautiful Mind crew, and for what’s to come from this new partnership with the PULSE Music Group team. Grateful to be surrounded by so many talented, creative and like-minded people,” Noll said.
Before launching his songwriting career, Noll was “nearly a violin prodigy,” said PULSE. He started playing the violin at age two or three, performing classical and “Scottish fiddle music” as a kid and was on track to audition for Juilliard. However, his passion shifted towards guitar and songwriting, leading him to create his artist project, American Teeth.

“When we met with Jon, Matt, Elijah and Elijah’s manager, Ari Goldstein, it was such an organic meeting of the minds. We knew this was such a great combination of humans and expertise all surrounding Elijah himself, who is clearly such a talent,” said Cutler.
Matt Maschi, CEO of Beautiful Mind, said, “I’ve worked closely with Elijah and his manager, Ari Goldstein, for five years and couldn’t be more excited to continue this journey with him alongside Jon and PULSE Music Group.”
Annie Aberle, Vice President, A&R, PULSE Music Group, added: “The creative team at PULSE Music Group pours so much energy into development and helping to bring creatives to the next stage of their careers. It’s such a joy to be a part of that development experience and beyond gratifying to be able to open each of those doors for our clients.”
“Having the opportunity to do this kind of work alongside a JV partner at the level of someone like Jon makes perfect sense — Elijah is primed for such a huge moment of success and we can’t wait to get to work. We’re excited to be in business with everybody involved in this deal.”
PULSE Music describes itself as a company that was “built by songwriters/producers for songwriters/producers.” In June 2023, the company launched a new label called PULSE Records with Concord. The partnership between Concord and PULSE follows their exclusive A&R-driven joint venture in 2020 that was formed after Concord Music Publishing acquired Fujipacific Music’s stake in PULSE Music Group to become the majority owner of PULSE.
The partnership with Jon Bellion follows PULSE’s launch of other joint ventures including its Supermoon Songs JV with Grammy-winning songwriter and producer Dan Wilson, and its artist development JV with R&B artist Brent Faiyaz.
In 2022, PULSE also inked a creative joint venture with Ariana Grande collaborator Tommy Brown and a publishing joint venture with Grammy-winning songwriter Starrah.
