Live music bigwig Rob Hallett has thrown his backing behind independent UK festival Standon Calling, taking a position on the event’s management team.
Former AEG President Hallett announced his new venture, Robomagic, earlier this year.
The company broadly has two divisions – Robmagic Live (concert promotion) and Robomagic Capital (investment in artists and business) – although it has been designed for involvement in all aspects of artist careers.
Robomagic Live recently snagged the contract for the reunion tour of Hallett’s old associates, Duran Duran, which kicks off in November.
Hertfordshire-based Standon Calling takes place from July 31 to August 2 this summer.
“I am thrilled about robomagic’s first festival connection and look forward to the growth of one of the uk’s most exciting events.”

Now in its tenth year, the annual festival has played host to the likes of Florence and the Machine, Friendly Fires, Mumford and Sons, Bastille, Metronomy, London Grammar, Clean Bandit, Anna Calvi, The Maccabees, Mr Hudson and Paloma Faith.
This year, it is headlined by Little Dragon, The Dandy Warhols and Basement Jaxx.
Hallett told MBW: “I am thrilled about Robomagic’s first festival connection and look forward to working with the existing management team towards the growth of one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative events.”
Added Standon Calling Director Nick Lawrence: “Securing Rob’s involvement is a major step forward.
“We strongly believe that the combination of his unrivalled experience, skills and contacts will have an immediate and favourable impact, as well providing what’s required to achieve success through the next stage of Standon’s development.
