Black Rock has finalised a co-publishing partnership with Ibiza-based events, label and artist management company Electric Ibiza.
Sentric Music Group’s acquired a stake in Black Rock, a boutique electronic music publishing company, co-founded by former AFEM CEO Mark Lawrence.
The partnership with Black Rock further bolsters Sentric’s expansion within electronic music. The company recently partnered with XL Recordings co-founder Nick Halkes, and last year inked a direct licensing deal with electronic music download platform Beatport.
Electric Ibiza manages a host of DJs and producers, including Sidney Charles, Seb Zito, Prok & Fitch, Ray Mono, Marco Faraone and East End Dubs.
It also represents labels including Heavy House Society, Edible and Seven Dials Records, as well as event brands Do Not Sleep, Cuckooland and Epic Pool Parties.
As part of the partnership, Electric Ibiza’s new publishing operation will benefit from Black Rock and Sentric’s administration infrastructure, as well as the company’s award-winning creative and sync team.
Acts already signed via the partnership for publishing include Seb Zito, Ninetoes, Sidney Charles, Detlef, Latmun, Christian Berkhardt, LEON (IT), Malandra Jr. and Prok & Fitch.
“When the opportunity arose to work with Electric Ibiza, it was a no brainer.”
Mark Lawrence, Sentric Music Group
Mark Lawrence, Sentric Music Group’s Director of Electronic Music, said: “I think Neil and I had been circling each other for a few years at IMS [Ibiza Music Summit].
“When the opportunity arose to work with Electric Ibiza, it was a no brainer – they’re perfectly positioned in Ibiza with a global reach.
“Neil and I joining forces means we get to give their artists the opportunity to access cutting edge publishing administration and our ever-expanding genre-specific creative division, in addition to their deep reach into global electronic music events.
“To already see names like Seb Zito, Ninetoes and Sidney Charles coming on board through the partnership really sets the tone of what is to come.”
“The calibre of talent already coming on board is fantastic.”
Neil Evans, Electric Ibiza
Neil Evans, Electric Ibiza Founder and Director, said: “We have worked with Mark and the team on various artists and projects over the years.
“Given the natural alignment of the two companies, it made sense to make our partnership with Black Rock Publishing formal and global.
“The partnership means we can present co-publishing opportunities to artists and power up our offering to a wider range of DJs, artists and labels we work with.
“The calibre of talent already coming on board is fantastic. I very much look forward to seeing our partnership blossom this year and beyond.”Music Business Worldwide
