Peermusic has signed hit artist and songwriter Corey Hart to an exclusive global publishing administration agreement.
The deal is a joint signing between peermusic’s Canadian and American offices and encompasses Hart’s entire back and future catalog worldwide, including the hits Sunglasses at Night and Never Surrender.
Sony previously represented Hart’s catalog for the world excluding Canada, and now peermusic’s deal with Hart marks the first time he has agreed to a publishing deal that includes Canada.
Corey Hart has sold over 16 million records worldwide by amassing nine consecutive US Billboard Top 40 Hits, while scoring 32 top 40 singles in his native Canada (Including 12 – Top 10 Hits).
He´s Grammy nominated as well as an ASCAP, multiple Juno and Quebec ADISQ award winner.
The music publishing deal, which was put together by Hart’s long time lawyer and Partner and Chairman of the Music Industry Practice Group at Loeb & Loeb, John Frankenheimer, comes as part of an exciting new chapter of Corey Hart’s storied career.
Hart will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 2019 JUNO Awards, held in London, Ontario.
After 20 years away from the spotlight, Hart has also recorded a studio album, Dreaming Time Again, produced by Bob Ezrin and will embark on a major arena tour across Canada & Asia, his first since the 1980´s.
Dreaming Time Again is scheduled for release on May 3, and the first single went to radio on January 16.
Hart also recently released a Christmas single, Another December, which went reached Top 10 at AC radio and the holiday charts.
