Sony Music-backed music creation, collaboration and distribution startup Tully is partnering with music distributor Symphonic Distribution.
Founded by tech entrepreneur Dhruv Joshi and rapper Joyner Lucas, Tully’s services range from workflow management, to asset management, as well as templated industry contracts and publishing and licensing support.
Symphonic says that the partnership is aimed at being a VIP distribution component, so that it can provide “value-added” label services to select members that qualify.
In April 2020, Sony Music Entertainment took what Tully describes as “a leading strategic investment” in the company to help expand its offerings and grow its user base.
The startup launched three new paid-for premium service tiers under the ‘Tully Platform’ banner in November 2020.
Symphonic Distribution expanded into Africa and Mexico in May and into Brazil in January.
Last October, FUGA and Symphonic struck distribution deals with Nigeria-based streaming startup MePlaylist.
“I am excited about Tully’s partnership with Symphonic because it is an opportunity for artists on our platform to get the team they need for distribution and to succeed without losing their independence.”
Joyner Lucas
Co-founder and Chief Creative Office, Joyner Lucas, said: “As an artist who created his own path through the industry, I value the contributions of the team around me.
“I am excited about Tully’s partnership with Symphonic because it is an opportunity for artists on our platform to get the team they need for distribution and to succeed without losing their independence.”
