Sony Music Publishing has partnered with Stockholm-based company The Very Good Music Publishing.

The deal will, says Sony Music Publishing, will see it provide support for the latter company’s catalog and expand global opportunities for its roster of songwriters.

The Very Good Publishing is part of The Very Good AB (previously known as Vivstilo), which was founded by Jakob Emtestam in 2011 and has since become one of the top music management companies in Scandinavia.

The Very Good’s publishing arm was established roughly two years ago with Director of Operations Manne Björkman, VP of A&R Holly Astera, and Partner and VP of A&R Dan Karlström.

Prior to the launch of The Very Good’s publishing arm, the company helped secure numerous global hits co-written by its songwriters, including Señorita by Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello, Stay by Zedd & Alessia Cara, Let You Love Me by Rita Ora, and many more.

Recently, The Very Good Music Publishing has signed hit songwriter-producers Julia Karlsson and Anton Rundberg, writers of The Business by Tiesto.

The company’s roster has also earned success with top artists including BTS, Sting, Mø, Alan Walker, and Ava Max, as well as numerous prominent local acts.

The Very Good Music Publishing’s roster is also home to rising Scandinavian songwriters such as Hilda Stenmalm, Moa Pettersson Hammar, Gustav Nyström, Kristin Carpenter, Martin Stilling, and Rasmus Budny.

“We are honoured and excited to welcome The Very Good to the Sony Music Publishing family.”
