Music industry veteran Damaris Rex-Taylor has been promoted to Managing Director of RCA Records UK, a unit of Sony Music UK.
Damaris brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having traversed various sectors within the music industry, including independent and major labels, as well as media and artist management.
Her entrepreneurial skill has been evident throughout her career, with notable stints at Chrysalis, Parlophone, and Disturbing London, alongside her contributions to all three global record companies.
At RCA UK, Damaris has contributed to the success of British artists since joining the label in 2019 as Director of Marketing. She was promoted to General Manager in 2021. Under her guidance, the label has seen growth, with successful campaigns for artists such as Tyla, Travis Scott, Cat Burns, Miley Cyrus, and newcomer Myles Smith.

Beyond her professional achievements, Damaris recently completed a postgraduate degree in Strategy and Innovation at Oxford University’s Saïd Business School. Additionally, she plays a role as Co-Chair and founding member of Sony Music UK’s Social Justice Fund, aligning with Sony Music Group’s global efforts to support anti-racist initiatives and educational opportunities in marginalized communities.
