SoundCloud has launched its emerging talent support initiative First on SoundCloud in the UK and Germany.
The campaign will highlight artists within the dance, electronic and hip hop communities throughout the SoundCloud app, social feeds, newsletters and in out of home advertising.
In London, ads will appear at Ebor Street and Great Eastern Street Gallery in the Shoreditch neighbourhood.
The first six artists who’ll receive support are all independent, and include DJ Claptone (PIAS), dance artist Jan Blomqvist (Armada Music), hip hop talent Jay Prince (Cosa Nostra), rapper Little Simz (Age 101) (pictured), producer Lotic (Tri Angle) and club artist Peggy Gou (Ninja Tune).
First on SoundCloud debuted in the US in March to celebrate and promote emerging talent on the streaming platform through new music, video and photography.
Kerry Trainor, Chief Executive Officer at SoundCloud said: “We are excited to extend our First On SoundCloud campaign to celebrate emerging UK talent who began their careers on SoundCloud, including standouts Little Simz and Jay Prince.
“Creators are the center of our ecosystem and this campaign underscores our commitment to empowering them with the best tools, data and resources to start their careers on SoundCloud.”

Alongside the featured artists, SoundCloud is giving all creators the opportunity to upload and be heard as part of First on SoundCloud.
Any creator can upload an original track to SoundCloud and tag it #SCFIRST for a chance to be promoted across the platform in playlists, social media and newsletters.
In addition, those who take part will be reviewed for inclusion in the SoundCloud Premier monetization program.
