AMRA is a global digital collection society owned by Kobalt Music Group, but operated separately from that company.

The body officially launched at Kobalt in June 2015, a year after the company had acquired the original AMRA (American Music Rights Association).

In August 2015, AMRA announced its first global licensing deal, with Apple Music.

In October that year, AMRA announced another global licensing deal, this time with YouTube.

AMRA, which claims to license its music directly into over 200 territories outside of the United States, is led by CEO, Tomas Ericsson.


AMRA Clients

In February 2017, AMRA announced that it had signed an agreement to represent the rights of Ole (now known as Anthem Entertainment) globally outside the US.

In October 2018, AMRA announced that it had inked deals to globally represent the rights of Spirit Music Group and Sentric Music Group.


AMRA financials

According to a Kobalt Music Group filing with Companies’ House in the UK, AMRA generated $65.60 million in the 12 months to end of June 2019.
