Guomin Xie has tendered his resignation as Tencent Music Entertainment’s co-President and Director due to ‘personal reasons’.
His exit becomes effective on June 6, 2019.
The news comes a month after the resignation of TME’s Group Vice President, Andy Ng, who also departed the business for ‘personal reasons’. Ng remains a consultant at TME.
Meanwhile, Tencent Music has named Mr. Zhenyu Xie, co-President and Company board member, as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), reporting to TME’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Cussion Pang.
Tencent Music has also appointed Ms. Linlin Chen, a Group Vice President, to oversee the Company’s Kugou business. Plus, Mr. Lixue Shi, a fellow Group Vice President, will now oversee the company’s Kuwo business.
Both Chen and Shi now report to the CEO directly.

He added: “Zhenyu’s extensive experience and expertise in technological innovation make him an ideal leader to spearhead our efforts in advancing technology to further improve our services.
“In regards to the new positions of Linlin and Lixue, we have complete confidence in their abilities to leverage their extensive management experiences accumulated through their prior roles. They are both well-suited to lead Kugou and Kuwo to the next level of growth.”
