An intriguing new music related start up called Platoon is being launched by the founder of digital distribution firm AWAL/Apple exec Denzyl Feigelson and the co-founder of LoveFilm, Saul Klein.
There’s few details on what the firm might offer at the moment, with its website simply stating it “a platform for fearless creatives”.
Business Insider was the first to spot it.
Details on Companies House state entrepreneur Klein and Feigelson as joint directors.
An Apple Music playlist titled ‘Platoon artists’ curated by playlist curator and journalist Lucie Watson suggest she’s also involved.
According to Watson’s list, rising star Jorja Smith, Billie Eilish, O Mer, Azekel, Jacob Banks, Believe in Giants, Another MP and Fono are amongst the artists who’ll be using Platoon.
AWAL founder Feigelson (pictured inset) is producer of the iTunes Festival in London and a music synergist at iTunes, where he has been since its inception. He’s also a music strategist for Coca Cola and an artist manager.
As well as co-founding LoveFilm, Klein had a hand in the launch of Skype, kids computer kit Kano and startup accelerator Seedcamp.
Platoon is based at London’s Tileyard – a creative media hub near Kings Cross housing Mark Ronson’s recording studios amongst other music industry related businesses.
