Independent music distribution and marketing company Symphonic Distribution has hired Tunji Afonja as a lead Creative Executive.
Afonja is the former Chief Digital Officer at Mavin Records.
In his new role, he will report directly to Symphonic CEO Jorge Brea.
Afonja’s hiring comes after Symphonic Distribution expand into both Mexico and the African continent in May.
In January, the company expanded into Brazil.
Afonja has acted as a software provider, creative consultant and project lead for artists such as DJ Khaled, Meek Mill, Kevin Hart, Rema and others.
He has worked on campaigns that collectively garnered a total of 5 billion views worldwide, according to Symphonic.
At Symphonic, Afonja’s focus will be on creating collaborations between artists in Africa and the US, as well as other emerging territories.
