Veteran Universal Music Group executive Jeremy Erlich has joined Spotify as Head of Music Strategy.
Erlich will report to Nick Holmsten, Global Head of Music and will be based in Los Angeles.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Erlich says that he’ll “be responsible for the North American Editorial & Global Curation Strategy teams, as well as the Music team’s strategy and operations”.
Erlich joins from Interscope Records to which he signed K-Pop megastars Blackpink, and where he was most recently CFO and EVP Business Development.
Prior to that, he ran corporate development for Universal Music Group since 2011 and was heavily involved in the acquisition of EMI Records.
Erlich joins the Spotify Music team that includes Global Head of Artist & Label Marketing Marian Dicus, and Head of Artist & Talent Relations Chaka Zulu, who joined the company in April.
