Entertainment marketing agency The Syndicate has hired industry veteran Billy Burrs as SVP of Artist Development and Global Commerce.
Burrs helped break the likes of The Strokes, Ray LaMontagne, David Gray, Foo Fighters and Kings Of Leon, amongst others during his 15 years as SVP Rock Music at RCA in New York.
After leaving RCA, he worked with Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles at 300 Entertainment, where he spent the last five years as Head of Promotion, contributing to major campaigns by Fetty Wap, Highly Suspect, Cheat Codes, Young Thug, Meg Myers and Meg Mac.
In the newly created role at The syndicate, Burrs will be promoting artists through all pillars of The Syndicate’s services from radio, digital, marketing, street and PR as well as expanding international opportunities and engaging with digital service providers.
The Syndicate works with the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Spoon, Brockhampton, Jack White, LP, Andrew W.K., Portugal. The Man, Blood Orange, English Beat, Parquet Courts, Chicano Batman, Kano, Tokyo Police Club, and the recently released documentary, Murder In The Front Row.
Burrs began his career at Zoo Entertainment in Chicago in the ’90s, before rising to VP Alternative/Rock in New York at Geffen.
During this time, he was a crucial asset in the careers of Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, Weezer, Beck, White Zombie and Garbage, to name a few.
