West One Music Group is expanding into Latin America and Cristina Bellido (pictured), recently promoted to SVP of Business Development and based out of West One Music’s New York offices, is spearheading the company’s music licensing growth strategy.
Bellido, a native Spanish speaker with over 20 years’ experience in the global music licensing and publishing business, will continue to develop and nurture relationships with advertising agencies and brands globally, as well as serve on the East Coast Board of the Association of Music Producers (AMP).
Bellido’s team has already developed partnerships with key broadcasters throughout Latin America, including Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, and key placements to date include notable productions such as Los Espookys on HBO and Diablero, Elite and Las Chicas del Cable on Netflix.
This growth is part of West One Music’s wider five-year strategy, according to a press release, which has also included the creation of SOMOS, a dedicated and locally produced Latin American label.
SOMOS now comprises 36 albums and features Grammy-award winning producers, composers and artists and emerging talent from the breadth of Latin America.
In addition, Mexico City-based Laura Luna has recently joined Bellido’s team as Music and Licensing Consultant.
With over 20 years’ experience in the media and marketing industries across Mexico, Luna will be instrumental in developing West One Music’s position in the Mexican market.
“I’m very much looking forward to working with Laura and the rest of the team to support our clients and bring our family of 12 different music labels to the media production and creative industries across Latin America.”
