The big night is less than five weeks away, the excitement is building, the finalists have been announced – and YouTube Shorts has been confirmed as sponsor of the Manager of the Year category.
Presented by Music Business Worldwide, the A&R Awards is the UK music industry’s most enjoyable night out of the year.
This year’s event takes place at its traditional home, London’s Grand Connaught Rooms, on the evening of Tuesday November 7th. It will celebrate the most successful execs, managers, producers and songwriters of the last 12 months – and there will be a sprinkling of special recognition awards for some legends of the game.
Dan Chalmers, YouTube’s Head of Music, EMEA, said: “The worlds of A&R and management have never been more closely aligned than they are in the modern music business, and so we’re delighted to back a category dedicated to celebrating the managers who have played pivotal and creative roles in developing artists, breaking new music and achieving success.”
Other categories at the event will include Producer of The Year; A&R of the Year: Adult Contemporary; A&R of The Year: Contemporary Black Music, A&R Of The Year: Electronic/Dance (sponsored by SoundCloud); Song of the Year and Songwriter of the year (both sponsored by Hipgnosis); Publisher of the Year (sponsored by Milk & Honey), Major Label of The Year, Independent Label of The Year, and Management Company of the Year – as well as show-stopping special presentations such as the A&R Icon and the Sir George Martin Award.
The headline sponsor of the A&R Awards is, as always, Abbey Road Studios.
