Victoria Campoamor has been promoted at YouTube to the position of Global Head Of Publishing Strategy and Operations, based in New York.
The respected exec is very well known in music publishing circles, having worked as Head of Music Publishing Partner Operations, YouTube and Google Play in London since 2016.
Prior to this, Campoamor (pictured) was Head of Music Partnerships EMEA for Google Play, also based in the UK – a position she held from January 2014.
Before joining Google, she was Director of Operations and IT for UK collection society, PRS For Music.
(Campoamor isn’t the only major promotion at a digital service this week: Spotify has upped Austin Daboh to the position of Head of Shows & Editorial in the UK. He succeeds his former boss, now-Apple exec George Ergatoudis, in the role.)
The news of Campoamor’s promotion comes two months after MBW revealed that Apple had promoted Elena Segal to the position of Global Director of Music Publishing – running a new division which deals more directly with music publishers and songwriters.
Meanwhile, in October last year, Spotify hired Pandora‘s Adam Parness as Global Head of Publisher Licensing.
YouTube publicly launched its new Spotify rival, subscription app YouTube Music, in 17 markets last month.
The markets included the UK, the US, Canada, Germany and Australia.Music Business Worldwide
